Having a website is "A Very Good Thing" but social media also has benefits (easier and quicker to publish something). I agree - having your own site is "A Very Good Thing" and for the reasons he lays out in his post, Control

I agree. It's not all one or the other. It's both. The important thing is to understand the strengths and weaknesses of each and how each work for you.
