I launched it. Now what?
So, here we are. It's live but will always be a work-in-progress. I put this page here to write about what I've done, things I used, and what I plan to do next.
Latest Improvements
October 13, 2023
Right now I'm just publishing new content here. I'm focused on a few other design/development projects so I don't have time to build more here at the moment.
September 26, 2023
- I added a 'Now' page for personal stuff.
- I added this page so I have a place to talk about this site.
- I added a 'Current Mood' indicator on the homepage for no reason other than it amuses me and I like gifs.
Coming Soon
- An actual list of what I'm going to do to this site soon.
Coming Later
These things will take a little more time so they're not really 'coming soon' but I am working on it.
- Improved Blogroll inspired by Ben Myers
- Theme choices. The default 'Space Theme' is fun but I want to build options because, why not?
- Breadcrumb Navs because now I have a bunch of pages and it's getting weird.
Stuff I'm Using To Build This
Obviously, I'm using HTML/CSS/JavaScript but also some JSON and these things:
- Eleventy: static site generator.
- SASS: CSS preprocessor.
- Markdown: lightweight markup language (used for writing posts and content).
- Git & GitHub: version control and deployment to Netlify.
- Nunjucks: templating language for JavaScript.
This Site Is My Fun Project
I built this site to have some fun. Websites have all started looking the same and sounding the same. I wanted to do something like what we did back in the 90s before everything got frameworked and bland. So here it is.
I also thought it was time to bring my content back to sites that I own instead of publishing everything on other people's sites. I'll be blogging more on this later.
